VP Kashim Shettima is moving against Tinubu too early…He should tarry a while and see how the political climate pans out.
Yes he’s aware he is not going to be retained as VP but it’s dangerous coming out all gun blazing against your boss…
At that book launch, he mocked Tinubu three times. One, the President has no power to remove a governor, not even a councillor (Fubara’s case).
Two, referring to the Kogi Deputy Governor as “bloody deputy…” a veil attack on Tinubu and how he is being referred to and treated…
Three, he called Nasir El-Rufai, the arrow head of the coalition to remove your boss, “the game changer” not even “a game changer.” That is a direct attack on Tinubu too, that you may downplay El-Rufai’s role but that’s just for your convenience. He also said you can’t wish El-Rufai away! That cuts deeply…
News across the North is that, Tinubu will remove Shettima. Two, the North is ready to give it to a Southern candidate and allow him do two terms. Three, plans are on to ensure no one rig the election.
So it’s down to the southern candidate if he would be able to match Tinubu in the South-South and South-East. Up North, they are sure they will stop Tinubu’s rigging machine. But down south?
Today in Kaduna, they inaugurated a strong team to galvanise the North. But in the South, no southern group has emerged to lead the coalition.
The North is always ahead.
So for Shettima, it’s war already. “I’m losing out, so let’s all lose”. But it’s too early to let your master know your strategy…
