Oya come let’s dissect this matter together today today.
Recently I was thinking about why I prefer eating the whole edible part of the fruit instead of settling for the now fashionable fresh fruit juice.
See ehn, when you juice the fruit, you decide what stays and what goes. You keep the often very sweet concentrate and throw away the pulp, the fiber, and all the other parts that seem less important. That is not my own style sha, i prefer to let my body make that decision itself based on what my body needs at that specific time.
So as the fruit arrives in my body, it takes what it needs, stores what will be useful later, and discards what serves no purpose in the now.
It is the same with GOD’S word, HIS WORD was never meant to be consumed as a convenient concentrate. Sélah
Truly many of us are spiritually overfed and yet undernourished at the same time. How, you may ask? By consuming endless sermons, podcasts, clips, quotes, and devotionals, yet many rarely sit down with the Scriptures to ingest, digest and consume it by themselves, just like living on concentrated and convenient juices, this is nowhere near the same as eating the whole fruit as food though….
We know that the spiritual diet of many believers consists of sermons of their favourite preachers, podcasters and carefully ‘processed’ portions of Scripture that someone else has already chewed, filtered, and is now serving to you. Yes they are wonderful supplements, but not the main meal. Sélah
Read the Bible, the whole Bible for yourself…..not only the psalms you like or the stories that you remember since ‘once upon a sunday school’. Immerse yourself in the whole counsel of GOD, the chapters that challenge you and the stories you don’t yet understand that may even seem irrelevant today.
You never know which verse your spirit will need today or tomorrow but when you make a habit of sitting with GOD’S Word daily, your spirit learns to recognize, receive, and retain exactly what GOD knows you need for now and for the seasons ahead.
Study this Book of Instruction continually. Meditate on it day and night so you will be sure to obey everything written in it.
Only then will you prosper and succeed in all you do. Joshua 1:8
So today, don’t settle for spiritual juice, eat the whole fruit.
Do you get?
Shalom
