Uber is unlikely to vanish from the UK any time soon despite a controversial decision to ban the US ride-hailing app from the streets of London.
The company was told this morning that its licence to operate in the capital — its biggest market in Europe — would not be renewed because of fundamental safety concerns.
Transport for London (TfL) said that a series of flaws had been found in the company’s app, which allows drivers to pick up passengers and members of the public to request a ride.
