The Mind of Young Nigerians! Need For Concern

Hello Good day sir,

My name is Michael Adeboye and I am writing from satellite town, Lagos. I have listened to you on radio for sometime and I truly appreciate nation building efforts.

As poverty reaches its limit and insecurity grows at an alarming rate, Nigerians remain passive and there is yet to be collective participation of the people in the fight against corruption and the demand for good governance and accountability of public officers.

As a young Nigerian sir what I fear is not the difficult situation that corruption and bad leadership has put us as a people, what I fear is where the effects of the present situation of the country is leading us to unless Nigerians wake up to their civic responsibilities which go far beyond voting every 4 years.

Seeds of corruption were planted several decades ago in our governing and public system and overtime those seeds have become trees feeding the nation and it’s people with poverty, unemployment, insecurity etc.

Sir today seeds of violence and division is being planted by some of the same people who once planted seeds of corruption and I fear what Nigeria would one day look like if the seeds of division, disunity and violence that is now being propagated is allowed to thrive.

As terrible as the situation now looks though i still believe that there is still hope for Nigerians to stand up for with is right and say no to bad governance and corruption. it is this HOPE that i would love to discuss with you sir. I really do appreciate your efforts and i am sure that you are well aware and concerned about the state of the mind of the young Nigerians of today. we need more than one person, but all we need is one voice one voice, and we need the collective participation of young people across Nigeria, we need civil and democratic actions because a very sharp knife can not fall a very big tree but unfortunately the young Nigerian mind of today is apparently so different from what it was in your own days sir.

Nigerians are not ready and we will not be ready to uproot the trees of corruption and nepotism that was planted in the Nigerian governance and public system several decades ago until we begin to eliminate the seeds of division, disunity, and violence that is now been propagated in the country along ethnic, religious and social lines.

I would love to discuss the HOPE that i currently see in Nigeria with you in person sir. I do hope your busy schedule allows you time to consider my email and i look forward to hear from you.

Thank you and have a nice day sir.
