Nigeria Posts Highest COVID-19 Cases In Four Months, Cases Surge In Lagos

Nigeria has posted its highest COVID-19 cases in four months with 404 fresh cases reported by the Nigerian Centre for Disease Control, NCDC, for Tuesday.

Figures released by the NCDC on Wednesday morning showed that Nigeria recorded almost 100 percent increase in infections.

On Monday, the nation raked in 213 cases and moved to 404 fresh cases the following day.

“Lagos, the epicentre of the virus logged 356 of the new cases, about 93 percent of the national cases.

The state more than doubled the 157 cases it recorded the previous day. which stood at 157.

Rivers State, which came second recorded just 18 cases, down from the 20 cases it posted the previous day.

The nation’s total confirmed COVID-19 cases are now 171,728, with 164,837 recoveries and 2,134 deaths.
