My Predictions On The New Coalition For a Better Nigeria By Vincent Akele On Facebook

To begin with, I am a pastor with a rich journalism background; hence I sometimes find it difficult to pray whenever things go wrong, via our own evil devices as opposed to God’s will) i have every right, as every other citizen, to contribute my quota towards the emergence of the Nigeria of our dream.

Often, I hear some critics say, pastors should mind their pulpits and leave politics for politicians. How awfully wrong! Why are pastors not also exempted from voting during elections!

I also heard that we need prayers for the overall peace and prosperity of the nation. How unrealistic! The most prosperous nations of the world are not prayer warriors, but people who are deliberate in doing the right thing at every given situation. Prayer is good … very good. Yet, if it’s only prayers that brings peace and prosperity, our dear nation would have been the most prosperous on earth … for ages! Reason: we are the most religious people on earth, yet with no fear of God!

Now to the subject under discussion. You hear me, right? I said ‘prediction’ not ‘prophecy or revelation’ as some of my superiors or colleagues often make gullible people believe. We do not need prophecies or revelations when discussing the problems of Nigeria. Every right-thinking and knowledgeable Nigerian knows our problems and the practical solutions to same. We are just a bunch of insincere people!

Now, it’s not yet uhuru with regard to the emergence of the new coalition, as a closer look reveals an assemblage of a few patriots with an avalanche of the old brigade that have nothing to offer. Imagine some dubious, lawless and retrogressive characters as a former AGF who put Nigeria through some horrendous legal anomalies. What about some die-hard religious fanatics as a former Kaduna State governor, et al, talking about a new Nigeria!

The fairly good news about the said coalition is the presence of Mr Peter Obi and a few others. it is incontrovertible that Peter Obi remains the most widely accepted and respected politician in Nigeria today. No doubt, most members of the coalition are a bunch of corrupt elements that are merely out to ride on Peter Obi’s goowill to sieze power and dump him as soon as they actualise their ulterior motives.

Mark my words. Even if PO becomes president come 2027, he would not be allowed to rule for six months before these vultures would devour him, unless he lowers his standard and dances to their tune, as he would be impeached sooner than later to pave way for his vice, who is most likely to be a northerner, to achieve a regional objective.

If PO thinks he would be able to survive series of impeachments under the current judicial system (unlike his experience in Anambra), he would be day-dreaming, as he would not be able to conquer a corrupt judiciary, the federal might, regional and international interests that have held the nation captive for decades.

My advice to Mr Peter Obi. Since the Labour Party has been hijacked by retrogressive forces, he and all true Obedients should form a fresh party and re-enact the same values that endeared and still endear them to right-thinking Nigerians.

I still maintain that, we do not need any coalition to dislodge Tinubu from Aso Rock come 2027, unless he unexpectedly repents, makes a u-turn and satisfies the yearnings of the suffering masses, within the next two years.

Forget about the fallacious spates of defection to the APC. All the governors (most of who cannot deliver even their wards) and their allies cannot win up to 3,000 votes for Tinubu come 2027.

The only reason APC and Tinubu are so confident about winning the 2027 presidential poll is their suffocating grip on a corrupt INEC, the judiciary and the security forces that have become a tool of state-sponsored oppression against the masses under the Tinubu-led administration. Otherwise, even a relatively unknown me, will beat Tinubu hands down in a free and fair election!

Needless to aver that the 2027 general elections would be a battle for survival between the APC and the suffering masses. Well, if the latter decide yet again to mortgage their future for a morsel of bread, they would have themselves to blame.

Finally, If Mr Peter Obi and the Obidients are able to employ whatever legal means to keep INEC, the judiciary and the security forces on their toes come 2027, the emergence of a New Nigeria is possible. It it an ardous task, no doubt, yet if the suffering populace geniinely crave their freedom from the current oppressive forces, it is achievable.

God bless Nigeria!
