My Enemies ‘II Continue To Have High BP – Wike

WIKE

Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike has stated that a fitting reward for his political ‘enemies’ would be continued high blood pressure, which he said he was saved from by the Supreme Court judgement that affirmed his victory at the polls.

Wike, who made the startling disclosure at a special thanksgiving service organised yesterday at Saint Peter’s Anglican Church, Rumueprikom, Ohio/Akpor local government area of the state, to mark his victory said he would not even pray for the healing of his traducers.

At the event which was attended by former first lady, Dame Patience Jonathan and the governors of Bayelsa State, Hon. Seriake Dickson; Akwa Ibom State, Udom Emmanuel and Abia State, Dr. Okezie Ikpeazu, Wike attributed his victory to God and the forthrightness of the Supreme Court justices.

The governor, who also praised his legal team, for the hard won battle said: “Blood would have flown if the election was going to hold again. Many people were being arrested.’’

Wike said that he had called a few of his supporters that he was not going to recontest because of the expected bloodshed that would have followed the election.

“I called some people including the Chairman of the PDP, Uche Secondus that I was not going to run again. They said why and I explained that if I did, many people would die.’’

Wike also insisted that his administration would not support the efforts of President Muhammadu Buhari to wage war against corruption in the country as it was a one-sided affair and not comprehensive enough.

He noted that efforts to make some past leaders of the state to account for their misdeeds in office were fruitless since they were favored by the Buhari government.

“People took our money from the state, and we wrote to the police asking them to go and make a statement, nothing has come out of it. We won’t take anybody to the EFCC because I know what would happen. We know how to fight our own way.’’
