Marriage is not compulsory for anyone — no religion makes it compulsory.
They claim Jesus Christ didn’t marry, Paul never married, even Satan doesn’t have a wife. So if a man wants to marry, that is his own business, and he must know how to handle it to achieve his goals.
Being polygamous or monogamous is a personal choice, regardless of one’s religion. Religion doesn’t really matter, because a lot of pastors have many wives and concubines — some just package or code it so their members won’t know. On the other hand, many people think Muslims have an automatic license to marry as many as they want.
But the Bible never says you cannot marry more than one wife. In fact, in the same Bible, there are rules to follow if you marry more than one wife.
What I have come to understand is this: If you love your wife so dearly, marry only one wife. But if you love yourself so dearly, marry more than one wife.
Because I know so many men that have only one wife and are totally stranded in the journey of life. As we all know, the journey of life is never straightforward. Some may be lucky, while the majority are travelling like a vehicle without a spare tyre — which is a big risk and pure gambling / Baba-Ijebu for the traveler.
As I usually say, marriage is like gambling / Baba-Ijebu. If you are among the luckiest to have a good wife, count yourself lucky and never see others as novices. If you don’t agree with me, go and do your research on the state of marriage and divorce nowadays and get back to me. Some marriages are so terrible, but people are just hanging in there — those are “Oh God” marriages, you can call them marriages with tears. Only Almighty God/Allah can help us choose the right partner.
On a lighter mood: They say behind a successful man there must be a woman. So if you want to be more successful, marry more wives and become even more successful.
