Ilorin – People’s Redemption Party (PRP) has asked intellectuals in the country to join the party in rescuing the nation from bad governance.

Mahmud Aliyu, the chairman of the party in Kwara State, who made the call at a press conference in Ilorin, said the country had suffered bad governance since 1999 because both Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and All progesives Congress (APC) provided inept leadership.

He said that while PDP was accused of running a government in which corruption, economic hardship and insecurity prevailed, the APC that took over had not been anything different as the situation remained the same.

Aliyu, a professor of law, said that contrary to the change the APC promised what was being witnessed is a cosmetic change that did not address the root causes of the problems affecting development of the country.

He said there was need for eggheads who are patriotic to stop come together and rescue the country from bad leadership in 2019.
