Economic reform indeed. A situation where the Government is proposing to spend N1.9bilion to power generators despite the hype on power sector reform.
Besides, when you check this and compare it with the allocation to the same sector in the previous years appropriation bill, you will understand that the so-called reform is just hyping.
Allocation of fund to power generators in the state house in the last 2years
Year 2025 = N1.9b
Year 2024 = N37.9m
Year 2023 = N30.6m
This high budget to fuel generators at the state house has shown that the renewed hope agenda in power sector is a ruse. This is just the state house. Imagine what will happen at the MDAs of both the Federal and State Governments……..
If there is no hope in one of the sectors that is critical to economic development and productivity, then I wonder the kind of reform going on…….
