Dear Jimi: State Of The Nation By Biodun Adepetu

Egbon,

Thank you as always, for not keeping quiet.

I’d like to say President Buhari has just started what he should have done a long time ago.
In Project Management, there’s what you call Stakeholders – those who could support PMB’s CHANGE Project or frustrate it ab initio if their interests are not taken into consideration.
It’s one thing to fight corruption, it’s another thing to carry relevant people (stakeholders) along – remember, their existing source of livelihood is threatened, they won’t sit idle and watch:

1. As regards fuel availability, the key stakeholders are the Oil marketers. The subsidy issue is the catalyst to performance. To forestall fraud, set up a credible monitoring and control team.
2. As regards the Budget, members of the 8th the Senate are another set of stakeholders.
3. As regards electricity generation and distribution, importers of electricity generators are key stakeholders.
4. As regards road construction, the existing construction companies whose contracts have been revoked.
5. As regards agriculture and food production, importers of different food items who no longer have access to forex.
6. As regards, exchange rate and availability of forex to those who need it for tuition, health, business, and other critical needs, we need to watch out for the IMF! Again, the interests of Bureaux de Change operators also matter.

If not taken into consideration, they could ensure the programmes of this regime do not get off ground.

I hope and pray Mr. President keeps carrying these people along.

In addition, I’m sure Mr. President, as a former military General, knows about sabotage in warfare, consequently, he also needs to deploy appropriate strategies to nullify the activities of saboteurs.

Sir, Please keep talking; keep writing; keep advising.

Agba yin ko ni d’ibaje o.

God bless my country Nigeria.

END
