Correlation Between here and there! By AbduRafiu

Every action is preceded by thoughts and volition. In volition lies what the thoughts intend to achieve sanctioned by the power of decision. Volition thus springs from the will. Thoughts are fed into the heart which is the hearth, the base and seat of our volition to trigger it. When the thoughts are impure as they largely are today, the volition is misdirected.

The spirit speaks to us through intuition otherwise, indeed, generally known as the inner voice. Intuitive perception is in pictures which manifest in split seconds if we can talk of seconds at all.

The spirit glows through its soul bodies to the silver chord which is the connecting link with the solar plexus at the point some nerves link with the critical organs connected with the brains. The silver cord it is that connects the body with the soul. When the soul is covered with dross the admonition and guidance from intuitive as well as from helpers each of us is permitted to stand by us is hampered.

It is said in sacred books that the hearts of men have been darkened and are consequently evil. It is, therefore, no surprise that our environment is fouled up as it is so plain for everyone to feel and see if we have not closed ourselves up. When we close ourselves up we become unfeeling; we are uncaring. And it is said the one so choked is soulless. His cognitive faculty is impaired. The life of his fellow human being is, therefore, dispensable as it is meaningless to him. A link has been forged with the Dark Region of the Beyond and he has become a minion of Darkness. He is cold, unloving, callous and carefree.

Consider the intensification of all this in varying degrees around the world. We can think of Gaza in the Hamas-Israeli War. This has made the mindless destruction of lives and property in the Ukraine-Russia War, the uncertainties of daily living pale into insignificance. Hardly does anyone talk about the war going on in the Sudan. And can we leave out the criminality, insurgency, terrorism, the banditry and epidemic kidnapping in our own land, Nigeria? What are the thoughts that lead to and are feeding and undergirding these occurrences?

It has been said it is not what goes into a man’s mouth that defileth him, but what cometh out of his heart. Have we also not been told that from the abundance of the heart the mouth speaketh? As within, so without! What I am getting at is that the bulk of human activities spring from the heart, which in this case is to be interpreted to mean from thoughts and from volition.

And so we are admonished through the enlightenment in the unique higher knowledge available on earth in these times for all mankind to keep the hearth of our thoughts pure. In its Words: “Keep the hearth of your thoughts pure, by so doing you will bring peace and be happy.” We diminish ourselves or uplift ourselves by the nature of thoughts we think and harbour, and the nature of our volition. Noble thoughts uplift and evil thoughts drag down.

What should frighten us is that in thinking and acting, in the exercise of our volition, it is the sacred Power of the Almighty Creator which is invested in the Holy Spirit that we tap and use. The power streaming down unceasingly from Him, from On High, is neutral but living. The threads of the power in their consistency, inconsistency, incorruptibility and livingness manifest the Divine Laws otherwise known as the Laws of Nature, the Laws of God, the Laws of Creation, the Laws of Justice, the Will of God! The laws can be likened to electricity. As is common knowledge, electricity is neutral and non-discriminatory. It serves the wise as well as the fool equally. It is available to the King, the Emperor as it is available to the subjects and the servant. It is available to the child as it is to the adult and to the father.

electricity

Electricity can be used for all manner of beneficial endeavours—cooking, the heat or cool the home, to build houses, to move trains and to drive tramps, to power boreholes to pump water into tanks and reservoirs. Today it is being used to move vehicles in place of diesel oil or petrol (PMS). Being tested today are electric cars which may not even require the employ of drivers. It is behind Artificial Intelligence. Batteries we are about to discard in themselves generate electricity and then heat, otherwise the vehicles will not move. In the same way that we use electricity for beneficial works, we can also use to destroy.

For whatever use one may put it, he bears full responsibility. We are accountable. It is in the same way that in the exercise of our freedom of decision, our inalienable freewill, we use the Power of the Creator streaming down from Above. Having used it as we want, we bear full responsibility. If it is wrongly used or channelled, we bear responsibility; we must account here or hereafter.

For killing our fellowmen, to entrap, to kidnap them, to harm them in whatever way, it springs from thoughts and in the exercise of freewill and the power of the Most High God is tapped as we can do nothing without tapping from the threads of His Power, the Power of the Holy Spirit. The sponsors of the kidnappers, of banditry, insurgency, terrorism or whatever, are not exempted. They bear full and heavy responsibility.

If we channel the power to do good, to high ideals, we become light, feeling uplifted; the neighbourhood, the land knows peace. In the revelations of the higher knowledge it is said: “Do not forget that every thought you produce and send out attracts all similar thoughts on its way, or it attaches itself to others, thus continually increasing in strength and finally also reaching a goal, a human brain which is perhaps off its guard just for a moment, thereby offering such floating thought-forms the opportunity to penetrate and operate.

“Just consider what responsibility will fall upon you if at some time or other the thought becomes a deed through some persons whom it was able to influence! This responsibility already arises through the fact that every single thought keeps a constant link with you just as if by an unbreakable thread, so as to return with the strength gained on its way, either to burden you or to bring you joy, according to the kind you produce.”

We are warned In the Light of Truth, therefore, that when we misuse the Power of the Creator, we create opposing currents which are stronger than any human spirit and the power of any government or a collection of them. The opposing currents will always overpower us and our work. Evil thoughts, for example, create demons and furies whose only role given their origins is destruction, personal or widespread damage as the case may be.

It is thus made plain that tribulations and destruction are consequences of wrong actions. As I have said in this column before, the first responsibility every human being owes himself is to familiarise himself with the said higher knowledge which contains the foundation stone for all knowledge which if examined, gives explanation for every happening in the whole of Creation.

In the meantime, Nigeria has found herself in the firm grip of lawlessness from the consequences of accumulated darkened thought-forms and ignoble actions of her peoples which are contrary to the purse of life and an obstruction to the path of victorious joy and happiness in life here after. For perpetrators of evil and regardless of the brightness of their raiment of their sponsors or backers here on earth, in the Beyond it is torment in squalid and dark region for thousands of years!!

What then can we do ameliorate the situation and assiduously work to bring our land back to the era of peace when Nigerians could sleep with their two eyes closed and travel from one end of the country to the other? Good thoughts, thoughts of love as well as physical measures will go a long way. For some time to come there will be unscrupulous people amongst us for human beings change as slowly as the face of the earth crust.

Will Electricity policing as was once touted as far back as 2003 and later during the Buhari Administration work? Methinks it will not work for as long as it is centralised. By 2003, the police authority themselves recognised the necessity for some form of augmentation by way of community policing. That year the Nigeria Police sent some of its men to Britain to train in community policing.

Centralisation of in a diverse country such as Nigeria violates the Law of Nature. That Law is called the Law of Attraction of Homogeneous Species. It is also referred to as the Law of Similarity. Birds of the same feather flock together, it is said. Nigeria is a country of nationalities and not a country of settlers.

It is from such recognition we must proceed. Through the Law, each people are grouped together in accordance with their similar degree of inner development which may also be called spiritual maturity. It is so that each people may develop according to their light and at their own pace. The law works to the minutest details that even within a town there are clans and wards. There is reshufflement of course, which is also guided by law. A man may move from one ward to another—depending on the prevailing level of the inner development that accords with his upwards or downwards. A man may move from an erosion free area to a new mansion prone to serious flooding. We cannot ignore the law and expect to make progress for adamantine is the law. It is eternal; it is self-acting and self-enforcing.

Each people will be better off policing themselves at the state, zonal level and at local government levels. As I have pointed out three weeks ago, the centralised police command came from the report of Yusuf Gobir Committee set up by General Ironsi in 1966 but implemented by General Gowon in August 1967 understandably triggered by the wrong belief that the military command culture would work even in a land of very diverse people. To evade the establishment of state police or zonal police will amount to beating the same old track, the same going round in circles and getting to nowhere in particular and the problem of inadequate policing festers with attendant worsening insecurity in the country.

Senator Olu Adetunbi representing Ekiti in the 9th Senate once said it all on the floor of the Red Chambers: “States should have the monopoly of the use of legitimate instruments of coercion. Nigeria is ranked No. 14 among fragile nations of the world.” He listed them. Out of several federations he has studied, Nigeria is the only federation that does not allow state policing. “Policing cannot be a monopoly of the Federal Government. The time for change has come, Mr. President, I so submit,” he said.

From the current experiences, we ought to have learnt bitter lessons.
(The series on policing is concluded).
