All Progressives Congress, APC, leader, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, has called on Nigerians to rally round President Muhammadu Buhari in his bid to restore what, he claimed, is the difficult job of clearing the rot he inherited.
Tinubu spoke in Sokoto, yesterday, at the convocation of the Usman Dan Fodio University where he was conferred with a honourary degree of Doctor of Business Administration, DBA.
The event also saw the installation of the Oba of Lagos, Oba Rilwan Akiolu as the new chancellor of the university. The event was attended by senior government officials and APC chieftains among whom were Governors Aminu Tambuwal of Sokoto State Akinwunmi Ambode (Lagos) and Aminu Bello Masari (Katsina). Yesterday’s event also saw Tambuwal and the leader of the House of Representatives, Rep. Femi Gbajabiamila, openly embrace after their public disagreement on the emergence of Yakubu Dogara as Speaker of the House.
Tinubu, while also lauding the people of Sokoto for making a good choice in electing Tambuwal as governor, praised the host governor as representing the new hope of a new progressive political era.
