Yul Edochie to Buhari: Speak To Nigerians From Your Heart, Not From Paper | TheCable

Yul Edochie, Nollywood actor, has called on President Muhammadu Buhari to speak to Nigerians from his heart and not from a prepared speech during his Monday’s nationwide broadcast.

Buhari is billed to address Nigerians by 8pm — less than thirty minutes from now — with many looking forward to hear what he has to say on how his administration is tackling the coronavirus pandemic in the country.

Part of the issues many Nigerians expect the president to address during the speech include the ongoing lockdown in Lagos and Ogun states as well as Abuja.

Ahead of the broadcast, the gifted actor, seemingly stressing the importance of Buhari’s address to Nigerians, urged him to speak passionately from his heart.

“Dear President @MBuhari drop paper. Don’t read speech today. Speak to Nigerians from your heart,” he wrote on Twitter.

The 38-year-old actor has been critical of the Nigerian government’s handling of the novel virus. He once faulted the lack of necessary palliatives in place to lessen the economic burden of the lockdown introduced to combat spread of the virus.

TheCable Lifestyle had earlier reported how Edochie appealed to the president to put in place economic support, noting many Nigerians are currently complaining of hunger.

“Dear President @MBuhari Please provide an economic relief package for Nigerians, even if it’s 50k each, it will go a long way,” he had said.
