“You Went Too Extraneous Trying To Justify Your Fears That Area Boys May Some Day Become Our Political Leaders If Care Is Not Taken By Saying”

Dear JD,

I listened to your news analysis program this morning just to give it another try this morning.

You went too extraneous trying to justify your fears that area boys may some day become our political leaders if care is not taken by saying “…they boast about it, igba ta lo si odo kin kan, won fun wa ni 2million”.

JD c’mon, this statement that you alluded to was a statement made by Sunday Adeyemo aka Sunday Igboho and the context that made Sunday Igboho say that was after Femi Ojudu wrote a piece in the papers about the so-called Sunday Igboho that he knew etc. Sunday Igboho after that piece was made available all over social media, came out to say that he doesn’t know Femi Ojudu and has never met him and that he has only met Femi’s principal once when he was invited to see Tinubu in Lagos and he was given N2m as transport fare.

So the context within which Sunday Igboho made that statement was to set records straight as a response to Femi Ojudu’s write up.

How can you now use same as a boastful exclamation by area boys to justify your fears that they may become political leaders in future??

This is irresponsible journalism and further disappointed in you and your program. I will look for a way to make my letters to you public (I’ve followed you on twitter today as part of my effort to achieve this). Am disappointed once again.

  1. Hmmm. This is what happens when people listen just to reply. The statement Jimi Disu said was not even Sunday Igboho’s talk about being given 2million naira by BAT. It’s part of confessions made by street urchins years ago when rival groups made thw streets of lagos a battleground. I heard that particular interview. If you do not like Jimi Disu, it’s okay but don’t jump on things you do not know just to drive your narrative home. That’s what happens to reactive people. Oga, do better next time.
