Dino Melaye, lawmaker representing Kogi west senatorial district, slumped in police custody on Friday.
He surrendered to the police after a week siege at his Abuja residence. Melaye opened the gate to his residence to the police at 3pm in the presence of some Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) senators and his lawyer, Mike Ozekhome.
The senator had slumped while leaving his residence to enter the police vehicle. He was aided as he walked to the office of the federal special anti-robbery squad (FSARS).
