Another video of the encounter between Oyo State Governor, Abiola Ajimobi, and protesting students of Ladoke Akintola University of Technology has been released by the governor’s Special Adviser on Communication and Strategy, Yomi Olayinka.
The video was released in response to an earlier video of the encounter that showed the governor criticising the students and telling them to do whatever they wanted to do.
The second video, which has also gone viral, showed the governor asking the students to listen to him, but he was repeatedly interrupted.

The Governor got it wrong when he said he called his Osun state counterpart the come and let them together “help these students”. He is not helping the students by re-opening the school after 7/8 months closure. It is his civic responsibility to provide adequate learning environment for the citizens. What kind of help is he rendering?
To show the Governor’s upbringing, his daughter worsened the situation by posting that the students are mannerless on her twitter handle. That’s the kind of parenting and upbringing the governor has.
Even at that, the students at a point apologised, should he have gone ahead later in the so-called engagement be threatening them. What did he expect from students after 7 months of being at home? The onus lied on him to be in control by engaging them no matter the provocation. At his level, given his so called US education, he was trained that way, not the students
