Usyk Beats Tyson Fury To Become Undisputed Heavyweight Champion

Ukrainian Oleksandr Usyk has defeated Tyson Fury in a split decision to become the undisputed Heavyweight champion of the world.

The fight was the first undisputed heavyweight fight in nearly 25 years in Saudi Arabia.

Two judges scored the fight in Usyk’s favour- 115-113 and 114-113 with the other giving it to Fury at 114-113.

The knockdown of Fury in the ninth round proved decisive. He is now a two-weight undisputed world champion.

In round nine, Fury was completely out off his feet and stumbled around the ring a Usyk went in search of the finishing shot.

The referee then called a knockdown, giving Fury a standing count with the Gypsy King slumped in the corner.

He somehow survived the round, stumbling back to his corner.

In round six, seemed to have grappled control of this fight. He landed a brutal right hand to the body of Usyk, which the Ukrainian felt.

Usyk backed off as he gasps for air after another huge shot, and the 37-year-old was looking in trouble.

Fury’s hands were too quick. He was oozing confidence, slapping in a right hook at the end of the round.

This is the first time Tyson Fury has lost a fight in his professional career while Usyk has yet to lose any fight.
