Time Magazine Cover That Hangs In Donald Trump’s Golf Clubs Is A Fake | Standard

A framed cover of Time magazine featuring Donald Trump, which reportedly hangs in at least four of his golf clubs, is a fake, it has emerged.

The image, which claims to be from March 1, 2009, seemingly celebrates the US President’s reality show The Apprentice with the headline “Trump Is Hitting On All Fronts… Even TV!”

However there was no March 1, 2009, issue of Time Magazine and no issue at all in 2009 that had Trump on the cover, the Washington Post reports.

A reporter who saw the image at one of the clubs noticed that the red border was thinner than a typical Time cover.

The secondary headlines are placed on the wrong part of the page, and the world famous magazine never uses exclamation marks on the cover.

Meanwhile two of the same secondary headlines were featured on an actual cover featuring Kate Winslet’s image, from March 2, 2009.

Kerri Chyka, a spokeswoman for Time Inc. confirmed to the Post that Trump’s image is not a real cover that the magazine ran.

Meanwhile White House spokeswoman Sarah Huckabee Sanders added in an email: “We couldn’t comment on the decor at Trump Golf clubs one way or another”, and the Trump Organization did not respond to questions.
