Many Nigerians have complained of poor GSM services.
The National Association of Telecommunications Subscribers, Deolu Ogunbanjo, on Tuesday, called for compensation from GSM service providers over poor services.
Mr. Ogunbanjo made the call in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria in Lagos.
He said that subscribers had endured the poor services enough and that the association would no longer tolerate further exploitation. He said services had not improved in spite of the numerous fines and sanctions imposed on the operators by the National Communication Commission, NCC.
Mr. Ogunbanjo advised the NCC to compel the operators to adequately reward subscribers for the poor services offered to them.
“Now that the NCC has agreed that there is poor service being rendered by the operators and so consumers must also be compensated accordingly.
“Consumers are not satisfied with the quality of service from the operators, hence we are now asking for compensation and not just sanctioning the mobile operators,” he said.
