Reference Wasiu as a Kabiyesi (Forwarded)

The “Olori Omo’ba akile Ijebu” is not listed in the 107 Chieftaincy titles of Ogun state nor that of Ijebu District.

The Olori Omo’ba is not in the 1st Class Honorary Chieftaincy list in Ogun state nor Ijebu District.

It is an honour or certification (won fi da lola) from the Awujale of Ijebuland as he so desired.

It was so given to Subomi Balogun of the Tunwase Royal family and the Awujale decided to rotate it. Wasiu was given as the choice of the Fidipote Royal family. Incidentally, the Tunwases are next in line for the Awujale throne.

Olori Omo’ba title does not warrant the greetings of “Oba ki oo”, as he isn’t a king.

In the jurisdiction of the location of the Olori Omo’ba’s residence there is an “Oloritun” (area head) that he is even subjectable to.

The only Obas ( Alaiyeluwa) recognised and with Palaces in Ijebu Ode are:

  1. The Olisa of Ijebu-ode for Ijebuode and District
  2. The Awujale of Ijebuland for the whole of Ijebuland

(Similar to Lagos hosting a governor and a president, back in the day.

The Chieftaincy title of “Olori Omo’ba Akile Ijebu”can be given to anybody that has Ijebu kingship backgrounds from any town in old ijebu province.
