Nigerian universities have been challenged to leverage on other relationships including the private sector, alumni, institutional linkages and funding organisations to generate additional revenue for infrastructure, research and development Executive Chairman of Dozzy Group, Dr. Daniel Chukwudozie who stated this shortly after his conferment with honorary doctorate degree in Business Administration at the University of Nigeria, Nsukka (UNN) promised to continually support educational development in the country.
While presenting the Dozzy boss with the award; the university Chancellor, Oba Adeyeye Enitan Ogunwusi, the Ooni of Ife, described Chuwkwudozie as a great Nigerian icon who had from a very humble beginning distinguished himself in the world of business.
Similarly, Chairman of Mainland Oil & Gas Ltd who chaired the reception organised in his honour, Chief Chris Igwe said Chukwudozie has remained a recurring decimal in the nation’s oil and gas sector because of his unequalled honesty and humility in relating with people.
“For over 20 years of playing in the oil and gas sector, doing business with virtually all oil majors; and even the small companies but Dozzy has no history of having had an issue with any of them. This is one quality that stands him out in sector and is worthy of emulation.
Igwe noted that the recognition from the UNN could not have come at a better time.
Anambra state Deputy Governor, Dr. Nkem Okeke, Okija traditional rulers’ council and several other speakers described Chukwudozie as a worthy ambassador of the state and a worthy patriot who has contributed immensely to the nation’s development.
Before this period, the business mogul had received five honorary doctorate degrees from the Commonwealth University, Belize City, Belize USA, University of Calabar, Cross River state, Federal University of Petroleum, Effurum, Delta state, the Eurpopean-American University, Ghana and St. Paul’s University, Awka, Anambra state.
