Oyo guber: PDP Clears 28 LGs To Dislodge APC As Makinde Emerges Gov-Elect By Adeola Badru | Vanguard

IBADAN-THE Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate in Oyo State, Mr. Seyi Makinde has emerged the governor-elect after his party cleared twenty-eight out of the thirty-three local governments announced in the Governorship and House of Assembly elections held on Saturday.

The PDP’ governorship candidate, Makinde polled total votes of 515,621 to defeat the candidate of the the ruling All Progressives Congress(APC), Mr. Bayo Adelabu who has total votes of 357,982.

Similarly in the House of Assembly election, PDP has twenty-six seats, APC has five seats, while ADP has only one seat.

During the course of announcement of results by the collation officers, there was palpable fear over the late arrival of the collated results from the Ibadan South West Local Government, as some unknown thugs with guns were said to have invaded the INEC office at town planning and burnt the results.

However, the situation was brought under control as INEC regenerated the results from the duplicated copies already with the respective party agents.
