Victor Osimhen has been ruled out of the Super Eagles’ forthcoming friendly matches against Ghana and Mali.
In a post on the Eagles’ official X account, the team said the 25-year-old will be out of the encounters after suffering an injury.
Osimhen was an unused substitute for Napoli in their 1-1 draw against Inter Milan in the Serie A match on Sunday.
There were reports that the striker had suffered an inflammation on the scar of an old injury.
Other players ruled out of the friendly games with injury include Taiwo Awoniyi, Tyrone Ebuehi, and Gabriel Osho, the new invitee from Luton Town.
No replacements have been announced for the injured players as the Eagles resume camp for the friendly ties billed for later this month.
The Eagles will play Ghana in the first international exhibition game on March 22 at the Grand Stade de Marrakech in Morocco.
The team will then meet Mali on March 26 at the same venue.
TheCable reported that George Finidi would lead the Eagles in both friendly games pending the appointment of a new manager following Jose Peseiro’s exit.
The newly scheduled friendly was arranged after Nigeria’s planned tie against Argentina fell through due to visa issues.
