True love, they say, never dies. Another school of thought posits that rather than fade away, true love gets better with age like fine wine.
The above assertions have found truism in the purest form in the lives of former Lagos State governor, Chief Lateef Jakande, and his delectable wife, Alhaja Abimbola Sikirat. The couple is usually the cynosure of all eyes whenever they step out at events due to the fact that the aura of love that glows around them is enviable.
To say that Alhaja Sikirat is always dotting on her octogenarian husband amounts to blatantly stating the obvious. Despite the retinue of aides and security operatives that are always around them, Alhaja Sikirat personally helps down the former governor from the car.
And she carefully guides him to his seat, watching out for him every step of the way. At a recent public event where Alhaja Sikirat tended to her husband, many couldn’t help but admire the aged couple, labeling them as a very good example for younger generations.
