The Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the Abeokuta Federal Constituency seat in the House of Representatives ahead of next year’s general election, Chief Toyin Amuzu has promised to deliver quality representation that would genuinely improve the lives of the people, if given a chance to represent the constituency.
Amuzu who emerged as a candidate during the party’s just-concluded primary in Ogun State said he is prepared to serve and bring about a sincere change that would positively impact the people. With his emergence as the PDP flag bearer, he said the residents and indigenes of the constituency are the real winners because he is prepared to provide effective legislation for the benefit of the people.
The Egba chief and community leader dedicated his victory to the Almighty Father. He defeated Akin Sorunke and Akeem Amosun with 43 votes. He has, however, extended hands of fellowship to the two contenders, saying he will work with them in the interest of the party.
The House of Representatives hopeful also thanked the delegates that voted for him to emerge as the party’s flag bearer, adding that he would live up to the trust reposed in him.
He said the journey to represent the constituency in the National Assembly has just started, and that he would redouble his effort during the electioneering campaign to make his aspiration a reality for the benefit of the people.
Amuzu also thanked the PDP for giving him the opportunity to be able to serve and contribute his quota, saying the party is the only political platform that cares for the masses.
