The Nigerian military says it has freed 210 civilians held captive by the Islamist militant group Boko Haram.
Women, children and elderly men were among the people they say they rescued.
A military spokesman said five of the militants were killed in the raid in the north-eastern state Yobe.
The raid is part of a last-minute push to meet the president’s December deadline to end the six-year insurgency.
