The Governing Council of the Lagos State University, LASU, has approved the promotion of 11 Associate Professors to the rank of full professors and 38 teaching staff of the institutions.
This is sequel to the recommendations of the Appointments and Promotions (Academic) Committee.
A statement issued by Ademola Adekoya, Coordinator, Centre for Information Press and Public Relations, LASU, said the decision was reached at the institution’s
118th Statutory meeting held on Thursday, 28 June, 2018 at the Senate Chamber, Main Campus, Ojo, Lagos.
The break down of the new status revealed that 11 Associate Professors were duly promoted to the position of full fledged Professors, while 14 Senior Lecturers were elevated to Associate Professors.
Also, 18 Lecturer 1 moved from that position to Senior Lecturers, while two lecturers previously on the position of Lecturer II were now on Lecturer I and one Assistant Lecturer moved up to Lecturer II; just as three Assistant Lecturers were upgraded to the positions of Lecturer II.
The statement said the Vice Chancellor, Professor ‘Lanre Fagbohun on behalf of the Senate, Management, Staff and Students congratulated all the newly promoted Teaching staff.
