LASG Replaces Branded Vehicles’ Enforcement With Sticker

The Lagos State Government on Wednesday said its officials would no longer need to flag down branded vehicles on the road in order to check their clearance for mobile advertising.

The Managing Director of the Lagos State Signage and Advertising Agency, Mr. Mobolaji Sanusi, said it had been observed that flagging down of vehicles wasted man-hours and sometimes caused traffic.

He added that to erase such bureaucracy, the government, through LASAA, had introduced vehicle clearance stickers.

Sanusi spoke at an event, where the new sticker was inaugurated by the Permanent Secretary of Ministry of Environment, Abidemi Adeyemi.

He said, “The stickers are necessary to ensure a simpler process in the government interaction with residents who drive such vehicles.

“We want an easier process of enforcement that will not allow for waste of time on the road. So, if the sticker is pasted on the screen of a vehicle, enforcement team will not need to flag down such vehicle because they will see the sticker and know that the driver has complied.”

He explained that sticker came in five categories for different kinds of vehicles.

“There is a sticker for cars, tricycles, buses and trucks. So, if you pay for a truck, you will get a sticker meant for trucks. And a sticker meant for a car should not be used on a bus or truck,” he added.
