Another Nigerian makes us proud on the international scene. Mr John Wyse of the British Deputy High Commission in Lagos has just been honored with the award of MBE (Member of the Order of the British Empire) by Her Majesty the Queen, Queen Elizabeth the Second.
John Wyse recently retired from the British Deputy High Commission as Head of Corporate Services after 30 years and is being recognized for exceptional service to Her Majesty’s Government overseas.
It is worthy of note that this is not just a long service award, but rather a recognition of extremely consistently useful contributions to furthering the course of Her Majesty’s Diplomatic Service abroad.
The first and last similar honor to a Nigerian in the Mission was about 20 years ago. So he is now proudly addressed as Mr John Wyse MBE.
He is married with children.
