INEC Chairman Mahmood Yakubu must go – Fayose

Following the postponement of the general elections scheduled to begin today by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), former governor of Ekiti State Ayo Fayose has called on the chairman of the commission, Prof. Mahmud Yakubu to resign.

In a post on twitter on Saturday, Fayose who is being tried for corruption at the Federal High Court in Lagos for corruption, accused INEC of waiting till the 11th hour to carry out the order of its masters, President Muhammadu Buhari and Attorney-General of the Federation Abubakar Malami.

INEC in the early hours of Saturday postponed the presidential and National Assembly elections till 23rd February while the governorship and state assembly elections were shifted from 2 March to 9 March.
