I Voted For Trump In 2016 But After Witnessing His First Tenure I Do Not Believe Any Person of Color Especially The Black Man Should Gloat Or Rejoice Over His Election… Forwarded

Dear brothers and sisters,

I voted for trump in 2016 but after witnessing his first tenure I do not believe any person of color especially the black man should gloat or rejoice over his election.

They say his tenure benefits a certain financial class so should be a positive for me but it is not just about me and what benefits me. Let me mention a few reasons why:

During his tenure-
1)Spouses of H1B visa holders were not allowed to work, that was the policy he introduced. I remember my sister in-law coming in to join her husband and could not work. I said ok, since this is the case I sent her to my neighbor who deals with MaryKay products to learn the trade thinking she could at least do some business to support her husband who …
[16:28, 10/11/2024] Jimi Disu: The apparent reluctance to identify with Nigerian officials by Kemi Badenoch and the complaint by Madam Dabiri can be compared to the relationship between an irresponsible parent and a child who turns successful or just useful in life, and the parent begins to come around to identify with that child.

Kemi Badenoch loved Nigeria deeply and even though she was born in the UK, had a better part of her growing up in Nigeria. She was forced to flee Nigeria due to bad governance and inequity. She wasn’t given fair playing ground to explore her talents and serve Nigeria. She left the country, and went back to the country where she was born, and even though she is coloured, and identifies as a “first generation immigrant”, that country allowed her to dream dreams and gave her the opportunity to make her dreams come to reality.

I do not think that the Nigerian government reached out to her or offered her any kind of support while she was younger and still nurturing her dreams. The Diaspora coordinator who is complaining about Kemi snubbing her, should have told us what her agency did to keep in touch with Kemi before she emerged as that Conservative Party leader. If they did nothing, then, they have no right to expect Kemi to give them the pleasure of identifying with her now that she has reached the top.

The Nigerian government is like an entitled parent, who believes that giving birth to you is enough for them to stake a claim to you. That’s not correct. Parenting starts after birthing. A parent who does not do their best, to put the child on a good stead in life, within their capacities, is less related to that child than anyone else. There are many children who lost their paths and even their lives because of parental irresponsibility, and those who, by God’s special grace and their own determination, succeed, shouldn’t owe such parents anything. It would amount to encouraging such negligence and irresponsibility, if you turn back to embrace them when they prioritised their own personal comfort and enjoyment, when you needed them most.

I am praying that Kemi eventually leads the Conservatives back to Downing Street, and when she does, nothing should matter to her more than serving the country that she owes her allegiance to. When dealing with Nigeria, she should deal with her as one of those Third world countries whose leaders continue to rape and destroy. She should give them the same aids that have been marked for them, and not try to do anything special for her, because that would amount to abuse of office and corruption.

Kemi owes no allegiance to Nigeria and our Diaspora Commission should focus their energy and resources in becoming a strong part of the growth and development of younger Nigerians in the diaspora who really need to identify with their roots. Don’t wait for them to succeed before you start looking to identify with them
