African Leadership Magazine, ALM, has nominated former President, Dr. Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Bola Tinubu, National Leader, All Progressives Congress and Dr. Kofi Annan; Former UN Secretary General, among others for the magazine’s 2015 Person of the Year Awards.

According to the Publisher of the Magazine, Dr. Ken Giami, the nominees were drawn from a shortlist of distinguished African business, political and diplomatic leaders who have contributed in making the continent proud in the year under review.

Other nominees according to the publisher, included Dr. Strive Masiyiwa, founder, ECONET Wireless; Mr. Tony Elumelu, Chairman of Heirs Holding; Mr. Mo Dewji, Tanzania Business Man & MP; Ms. Phumzile Mlambo-Ngcuka, Executive Director, UN Women; and Dr. Akinwumi Adesina, President, African Development Bank. Giami, while unveiling the shortlist, said “This group of Africans have contributed immensely towards repositioning the African continent; breaking boundaries; and placing the continent on the global stage.”

According to him, “as it is with past recipients of the prestigious African Leadership Magazine Person of the Year Awards, the 2015 nominees have one thing in common, which is their undying love for the continent.”

The ALM Person of the Year is an annual award reserved for one distinguished African, who is considered to have blazed the trail in the year under review.

The winner of the 2015 Person of the Year Awards would be announced on Tuesday, March 1, 2016, by 2.00pm Central African time, and would be formally decorated with the prestigious medal during the African Public Service Forum, billed to hold on 25th March, 2016, in Johannesburg, South Africa.
