Dear Jimi: Appeal To Lagos State Govt For Sanity In Residential Area In Lagos

jimidisuOga Jimi,

I am an ardent follower of FPN on 97.3FM every weekday and The Discuss on Sunday.
Indeed I want to commend you on the exceptional insights that you give on both programmes.
I never believed that Nigerian Journalists can say it the way it is , until I listened to your program.

I would like to crave your indulgence by using this medium to appeal to the Lagos State Government to enact a law that bans the erection of canopies in residential areas, all in the name of

1. Parent’s Remembrance
2. Birthdays
3. Church programmes
etc.

Sir, I live in Akerele Extension Surulere, and since I moved in to the house, I am sorry to say that no week passes without a resident celebrating something or the other.

At the risk of sounding tribalistic, this is mostly perpetrated by residents of South West origins.

Sir, I know that we are in a Democracy and therefore people are free to express themselves, but the irony is that, “where your freedom ends is where another person’s starts!”

While I am not Anti-social, I would like the Govt to tow the line they did with religious houses that were in the habit of noise pollution and public nuisance.

If individuals must celebrate, they should do so inside their premises or in an event center that is located away from residents.

Thanks and May God continue to bless and strengthen you as you perform the work of Masses Advocate.

Best Regards
Chinedu
