It is an obvious fact that President Muhammadu Buhari has developed the habit of making reference repeatedly to the past about the Peoples Democratic Party and other individuals that served in the previous governments. Even at the last trip of the President to the USA, it was mentioned in his media chart. Haba!
President Buhari cannot keep dwelling in the past about a party’s mistakes and failures. This is a complete distraction for a serious government! In fact, our predicament stems from a systemic failure that Buhari is also sentimentally shying away from reforming. Yes!
Our political leaders, be they in the PDP, AD, AC, ACN, APC, APGA, Labour e.t.c. without exception contributed to our nation’s woes in the last 16 years and even before this dispensation. In retrospect, past leaders like Gen Yakubu Gowon, Murtala Muhammed, Ibrahim Babangida and Olusegun Obasanjo with Shehu Shagari and Sani Abacha were able to deal with the challenges of governance without ceaseless complaints.
However, if the load of mess is too much for Buhari to bear, he should throw in the towel and step aside like Babangida did for a serious person to lead the nation. Enough of this reference to the past under any guise.

You can’t gag Buhari; let him say his mind. There is freedom of speech. When it gets to your turn, call Sura the tailor to sew your two lips together. It is his administration and you can’t tell him what to say or not to say. We Nigerians are still feeling the pain of the activities of the rogues in the last administration. You can’t beat a child and expect him not to cry.
