Breastfeeding Mothers Are Told: Get off The Phone! | The Times

Parents have reacted angrily after a hospital told them to put away their mobile phones when feeding their newborn babies.

Staff at Yeovil District Hospital placed posters in its neonatal unit that read: “Mummy & Daddy . . . Please look at ME when I am feeding, I am much more interesting than your phone!! Thank you xxxxxx” Printed on the poster was a photo of a mobile phone circled with struck through a red line struck.

Yeovil’s special care baby unit looks after babies who need more than the usual level of care after they are born, including those who are born prematurely.
