Bishop Advises Buhari

The Catholic Archbishop of Onitsha, Most Rev. Dr. Valentine Okeke, on Thursday asked President Muhammadu Buhari and his cabinet members to stop talking and concentrate on the work at hand.

He said, “Buhari and his cabinet should do the work and allow the people to judge their performance.”

The cleric said it was curious that it was Buhari and his cabinet members that were praising themselves for the work they claimed to have done rather than allowing Nigerians to make their observation.

The bishop spoke at Nawgu in Dunukofia Local Government Area of Anambra State at a pontifical high mass to commemorate the 10th anniversary of late Lady Caroline Okaa-Onwuogu, wife of the traditional ruler of Nawgu.

He said what Nigerians needed was food on their tables and not propaganda.

He said, “If Nigerians have food to eat, they feel secure; if Boko Haram insurgency is wiped out, Nigerians will be the ones to praise the Federal Government.”

Speaking on the expectations in 2017, the bishop advised the Federal Government to focus on reviving the nation’s economy so that the country could rise again.
