The Golden City Ministries
The current video parading one of our own, Apostle Suleiman, has thrown me into mourning mood since I saw it earlier today. His unfortunate utterances as regards his ‘blessings’ (purchase of his third private jet) amidst Covid-19, which he wished should not end, speaks volumes of the pursuit of materialism and its attendant insensitivity which most of our spiritual leaders have given top priority far and above The Eternal Kingdom. More painful is the fact that many gullible members of his congregation applauded him. I could visualize Christ reeling in fresh pain at the sight of this ignoble act.
The Golden City Ministries would not judge anyone (and no one is qualified to do that). However, we will never take sides with anyone, no matter how highly placed or anointed, whose words or actions tend to bring The Kingdom to disrepute, thus making the sacrifice of Jesus Christ on the Cross to be vain.
The Church must be sanitized and rid of every rotten egg to avert the gates of hell from prevailing against Her. Those who are averse to criticisms against offenders in The Body, ‘for the sake of soul winning’, should realize that you can’t win converts by covering attrocities in your domain, but by exposing them, you restore public confidence and trust. (Proverbs 28:13).
Scripture says, He that winneth souls is wise, but he that keepeth them is wiser…(Prov. 11:30) If we cannot keep the souls we have already via feeding them with the right spiritual food to enhance their spiritual well-being, how can we attract fresh ones? And if we win fresh ones, (ironically, we don’t win fresh souls these day; we’re merely recycling members) won’t they be corrupted by the old? And what is the essence of winning souls that could end up in hell at the end of the day?
God will not come down nor send another messiah to sanitize His Church. Jesus Christ and His true disciples of old have done that. The spiritual leaders of this generation must brace up and refocus on The Kingdom as the ONLY Hope of man.
Contrary to views in some quarters, his action cannot dent the image of Christ, our infallible Saviour and King. Rather, he has only brought shame to himself and ministry. To salvage his image, and assuage this grave embarrassment to appease Christ and His Body, he needs to, as a matter of urgency, tender an unreserved apology to the Body of Christ and the general public and make appropriate restitution.
For us at The Golden City Ministries, we will continue to stand on the side of JESUS CHRIST, THE WAY, THE TRUTH AND THE LIFE, no matter whose ox is gored.
In all things, we would rather obey God than men.
