The Police have rescued abducted former Minister of State for Education and one-time Senator, Mrs Iyabode Anisulowo.
Mrs Anisulowo, 70, was kidnapped by gunmen about a week ago at Igbogila, Ogun State while returning from her farm. The Police said she was rescued at 7pm yesterday at Gbegbinlawo village, near Olorunda town in Ogun State.
Two people – a woman and a man – have been arrested in connection with the abduction. The kingpin of the kidnap gang was arrested in Lagos while allegedly trying to escape to Dubai, Ogun Police Spokesman Olumuyiwa Adejobi said.
Lagos Police Spokesperson Dolapo Badmos also said: “The Lagos State Command has arrested the master planner and kingpin of Senator Iyabo Anisulowo’s kidnap”.
