Akinwunmi Ambode, governor of Lagos state, is about to speak publicly for the first time since he lost the governorship primary election of the the All Progressives Congress (APC).
The media team of the governor disclosed this in a one-paragraph statement.
“Governor Akinwunmi Ambode to address the state by 2:30pm,” the statement read.
Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a former commissioner in the state, beat the governor to the 2019 ticket.
Sanwo-Olu was backed by influential party leaders in the state, including Bola Tinubu, a former governor of the state.
Sanwo-Olu polled 970,851 votes while the governor had 72,901 votes.
