An era has come in Nigeria where the people have woken up from a long doss and arrived at realities surrounding political affairs of the nation.
The recently concluded gubernatorial election of Osun state spoke minds and desires of thousands and millions of people. The people didn’t just exercise a civic duty, they supervised the process till fairness was inevitable.
The 2022 Osun governorship election was not just of regional interest but notional as major parties hustle to register her emblems within the state in preparation for the 2023 general elections
The jubilation recorded after the election has never been seen in the history of Osun, the result was indeed the choice of the masses. Some have termed this an era of dance, synonymous to an attribute of the governor-elect.
The role of the president of the federal government in the election was substantive as he was neutral in the electoral process. Usually, the power of incumbency in Nigeria is capable of doing some ‘magics’ as seen in the 2018 elections where some questionable alterations were recorded in the election.
This was supposed to be an election within the state of Osun but it literally concerned almost all Nigerians scattered around the world.
The election was in reaction against the present crisis around the nation ranging from economy, security, religion and others. The people believed they could speak a correction through their ballot papers.
The election was indeed a protest that couldn’t but welcome the interest of the masses. A protest activated by the P.V.C.
