THE Federal Government has ordered all Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs, to within seven days, compile names of all public service employees owed arrears of salaries and allowances for immediate payment.
The order is contained in a circular with reference number HCSF/428/S.1/128 dated September 14, 2015 issued by the Presidency on the auspices of the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, OHCSF.
The circular was signed by the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation, Mr. Danlandi I. Kifasi.
Confirming the development, Association of Senior Civil Servants of Nigeria, ASCSN, stressed the urgent need to compile the names of those being owed to pay them immediately, arguing that the affected workers had been passing through difficult times.
ASCSN Secretary-General, Comrade Bashir Lawal, commended President Buhari for bringing hope to thousands of public employees owed arrears of salaries and allowances for years.
