TribuneOnline: CAC Ministers Task FG On Restructuring, Poverty, Unemployment

More than 8,000 church ministers, from within and outside Nigeria, assembled at Osun State, for the September 2017 Pastors’ Conference of the Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) Worldwide tagged, Doing for Christ.

The conference, held at the main auditorium of the church, at the Joseph Ayo Babalola Prayer and Miracle Centre, Ikeji, Arakeji, attracted leaders of the church, including the general superintendent, Pastor S.O. Oladele; general evangelist, Prophet S.K. Abiara; general secretary, Pastor E.E. Mapur; finance director, Pastor J.F. Omitinde and the conference chairman, Pastor E.A. Onisoko.

Speaking at the event, president of the CAC Worldwide, Pastor Abraham Olukunle Akinosun, charged Nigerians and the global community to emulate the life of Christ.

“A society, where people apply the principle of doing unto others what they would want other people to do to them, will be civil and orderly,” Akinosun stated.

He urged political office holders to think of the best way to eliminate poverty in the country, stating that: “They hold the power to lead development, by creating jobs and steering the economy in the best way possible. They should formulate and execute schemes that would create jobs for unemployed youths. This should be the focus of all government policies.”

The CAC leader said the solution to the clamour for secession was for the Federal Government to heed the call for restructuring of the country, adding that the current federal structure was lopsided as the centre was overloaded with responsibilities.

Akinosun said the 2017 pastors’ conference was an experimentation, as all the pastors converged on the Ikeji-Arakeji camp for the first time, as against the zonal system adopted before, which comprised pastors from Igboland, Efikland, Port Harcourt, Edo, Delta, Ekiti, Osun and Lagos states as well as from Benin Republic.

He noted that there was an unprecedented growth, both locally and internationally in the church, due to the top-notch evangelistic outreaches embarked upon by the church’s leadership, as the mission assignments under Pastor C.S. Fasuyi, in conjunction with the mission team members, were visible in mission works in Canada, Sao Tome, Senegal, among others.

“We are committed, more than ever before, towards fashioning a holistic road map to greater success. This will bring to some more and fervent intercessory prayers, both individually and corporately, for divine intervention in the affairs of the CAC, as well as greater commitment to evangelism and missionary outreaches,” he stated.

Lectures were delivered on the occasion by religious experts and there were prayer sessions; choir ministration; revival as well as the JABU/CACTU/ welfare scheme/FRSC.

Also, the general secretary of the church, Pastor E.E. Mapur, on the occasion, said the conference was one of the significant landmarks in the history of the church, adding that the leadership decided to hold the conference so as to receive the word of God from the top, noting that development at the camp was expanding.
