Tambuwal’s presidential ambition real – Dep House spokesman

IF the word of the deputy spokesperson of the House of Representatives, Honourable Victor Ogene, is anything to go by, the presidential ambition of the Speaker, Honourable Aminu Tambuwal, in 2015 is real.

Though speculations were rife over the ambition of Honourable Tambuwal, after former military president, General Ibrahim Babangida, asked him to contest for higher office, however, Ogene, at the weekend, while fielding questions from newsmen, maintained that Honourable Tambuwal had proved himself for the top job, going by his track record in handling affairs of the seventh session of the House which he presided over in the last two years.

While confirming the presidential ambition of the speaker, Honourable Ogene, however, refused to disclose the platform Tambuwal is working on to achieve his ambition.

Information coming from the camp of the speaker indicated, however, that Tambuwal would not contest on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), but on the proposed party formed by the opposition parties in the country, the All Progressives Congress (APC).

“As it stands today, Tambuwal has displayed good leadership in the House of Representatives. It is only left for Nigerians to determine who will lead them in 2015. Though he has not told us about this, but leadership is done by the people.

“Tambuwal is not a PDP speaker, he is the speaker of the House of Representatives. He can relate with any party in the best interest of Nigerians,” he said.

JD:It appears the political horizon towards the occupancy of the rock in 2015 is gathering momentum .With this revelation the possibility of Tambuwal being a candidate under the APC cannot be ruled out.We look forward to more of this so we can have a very robust attempt at installing a government that will hopefully turn things around in this country
