Nigeria’s Socio-Economic Crisis Enormous But Surmountable – Amosun By Godwin Isenyo

Ogun State Governor, Ibikunle Amosun, said Nigeria’s socio-economic crisis is enormous but surmountable, saying that the All Progressives Congress government would deliver the positive change it promised to Nigerians.

He said Nigerians would start witnessing this positive change in the next 12 to 24 months.

Amosun spoke to journalists shortly after the Progressive Governors Forum’s lecture series entitled: ‘Building the economy of the states: Challenge of developing inclusively sustainable growth’ in Kaduna on Thursday.

The governor admitted that challenges confronting the nation were enormous but surmountable, adding that the ruling party were already on the right track to tackling these challenges.

He said the APC government was determined and assured Nigerians that in the next 12 to 24 months, they would feel the ‘change’ promised during the party’s campaign ahead of the last general elections.

The governor said, “We have challenges, but the challenges are not insurmountable. We are already on the right track, but we need to do more.

“The issue is that the problems we met on ground are far more than what we are portraying to Nigerians. Irrespective of these challenges however, we are determined. We are challenged. We are ready and we are equal to the task.

“Things may not yet be very obvious, but in not too long a time, we will begin to see and feel the benefits of these efforts that we are putting in place.

“The problem is that we cannot expect something that has been bad for ages to be resolved under one or two years and that is exactly what has been happening.”
