The National Assembly on Thursday began a Public Hearing to investigate the lingering fuel scarcity facing the nation.
Fuel scarcity has crippled economic activities in the nation with long queues being experienced for almost a month, with no abatement in sight.
Senate President, Bukola Saraki, had directed the Committee on Petroleum Resources (Downstream) to convene a meeting with industry stakeholders and map out solutions to the problem.
According to Channels tv, present at the hearing are the Minister of State for Petroleum, Dr. Ibe Kachikwu; Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mr. Maikanti Baru, and petroleum marketers.
Trade unions in the oil and gas sector are also represented at the ongoing investigative hearing.
