N35bn bailout splits Osun pensioners ….. PUNCH

There appears to be a crack within the ranks of pensioners in Osun State over the call for the stoppage of the N34.988bn given to the state government by the Central Bank of Nigeria.

Some leaders of the Forum of 2011/2012 Retirees in the state had addressed a press conference in Osogbo on Tuesday, where a speech they claimed was signed on behalf of the forum Chairman, Mr. Tunde Ogunniyi, was read to journalists.

But Ogunniyi, while speaking on the telephone with our correspondent on Wednesday, dissociated himself from the content of the speech read on his behalf.

Ogunniyi said, “I did not give them any order to go ahead with the press conference. I told them to let our parent body be aware, if there was going to be any press conference.”
