Change Begins With Who? By Olu Aluko-Apalara

By now, one would have expected Nigerians to know that the leadership is no longer our problem but the following. Since 1979, one would have expected the citizens to have known better and make democracy work by now.

Where was Goodluck Jonathan when Shehu Shagari was President? Where was Bola Tinubu, Dimeji Bankole, Anyim Pius Anyim, Ayo Fayose when the nation was in dire need of new breed politicians?

And now that we assume change is in place after many years of damage to the nation’s economy, people long for a turnaround within 24 months?

Prof Yemi Osibanjo, the Vice President was a follower until May 29, 2015, Femi Adesina was a follower, serving “kukikulii” to people through his newspaper column until he stepped into Aso Rock as spokesman for the President. Can’t these followers talk to the present leaders and advise them to do things differently?

Lai Mohammed has yet to realise that the Federal Information Ministry is not the same as the All Progressives Congress publicity secretary position; he is still playing games with people’s destiny, using propaganda when even the ordinary person on the streets has facts and figures at their finger tips!!

The Emir of Kano, Alhaji Muhammadu Sanusi 11, has spoken, Prof Chukwuma Soludo has warned and Gowon too came VISITING but I must tell the APC here that if in the next few weeks things continue as they are, not only will the party lose elections, Buhari and his team will go into history as the worst enemy the common man even encountered in this country.
