  1. Osun Senatorial By-Election: Why APC Lost.

APC is and should be ready for more shocks and shockers. With the way and manner Rauf Aregbesola is and has run aground the State of Osun, so APC expects to win any other election there, abi?! Lailai. The people have spoken: change begins with changing those people and party that are paying lip service to the !socioeconomic and political needed by this country and the citizenry.

This is a man and a party that is running and have somewhat ran the state as sole administrator with military styled administration with no commissioner for almost three years since assuming second term in office. Pensioners were not paid. Workers are being owed salaries. Developmental projects are not being initiated and where they are initiated, they are abandoned.

Here is a man attuned to playing religious cards at ensuring and entrenching political and civil shenanigans. Without recourse to public pains infested covertly on the people, Aregbesola brazenly opted to celebrating his birthday in and with public ‘fun-fare’ for 7 a whooping 7days…7 days….OMG!!! The dead and the bereaved are not spared nor respected by Ogbeni Gomina.

These are the (most likely and more probable) reasons why APC lost that election and will well be the reasons APC will lose more future elections because the change people roundly voted and opted for in the last election that brought in APC is somewhat elusive and has become illusory altogether. Nigerians now expect another round of change, both in government and style of governance.

Suffice to note that the wave of change that will sweep out APC from the political landscape, especially at the federal level and some states of the Federation come 2019 will be monumental and gargantuan. It is noted and prophetically so that only few few individuals and states will survive the change come the next general election.

The real winner of and in the Osun Senatorial by election is not actually the senator-elect but the people. Yes, the people are the real and ultimate winners. Votes are fed up with the charade being dish out by the politicians and the political parties. Electorates are now exercising and asserting their powers through their votes and other legitimate and constitutional channels available.

Just like millions of Nigerians, yours truly is a change apologist and sympathizer to the party/group that promoted the change mantra – at the time. However, those elected to herald the change have dashed hope of us seeing the needed change. Nigerians are frustrated and will no longer condone self serving politicians and abrasives political parties that are wont to having there says and ways in the scheme of things in ways and manners that leave the citizenry in pain and penury.

Let us congratulate the people of Osun for effecting this change by electing Adeleke and dishing the pseudo change agents. Let us emulate the people of Osun in electing other ‘credible’ individuals and do away with the old order that has no respect for us but bent on imposing itself/themselves on us just to perpetuate itself/themselves in position of power and place of privilege with no tangible impact on the masses.
