Find out the crazy things you just might see/experience the next time you step out.

Female beggars with babies– This is a very common sight. Not only do these women carry their babies around, these babies are often twins, so, they take them around while these babies are suckling.

Accidents- These occur regularly. They range from small accidents to serious accidents involving buses, ‘okadas’ and private cars.

Pouring of insults/abuses- Lagos is filled with people from different tribes, states and cultures. However, when it is comes to this particular thing, Yoruba is the preferred choice. Watching a commercial driver hurl abuses/insults and curses at his very own conductor is regular incident.

Right of ownership fights- Lagos motorists would rather die in traffic than lose their right of ownership. Expect to see these on a daily basis.

Traffic robbers- Expect these people wherever and whenever there is traffic. It is an inevitable law.

Talented-hawkers

Talented hawkers- I call them talented because they truly are. Lagos hawkers can outrun Usain Bolt to sell their products. They even risk their lives to sell their wares. Expect to have a range of choices from foodstuffs, vegetables, household items, to fruits and more whenever you are stuck in traffic.

Unofficial traffic regulators/controllers- These come in two ways, the really kind-hearted ones, who just want to ease the traffic, and the selfish ones, who only care about getting themselves out of traffic.

While the traffic in Lagos state might be terrible and horrible, it always promises to be an experience.

So, the next time you find yourself in one, just relax and grab something to eat from one of the talented hawkers.
